A villager in east China's Jiangxi Province accidentally found a nest of baby owls while mowing weeds on her own farmland. The chicks gazed at her with their black, beady eyes. Having never seen the birds before, she called local forest police and animal protection authorities for help.
The birds are six barn owls, which mostly live in mountainous areas. The baby owls are being cared for at a forestry station until they are able to fly and live independently.
