Four Chinese sailors abducted in Gabon by unidentified militants on Sunday remain unaccounted for, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang told a regular press conference on Monday.

"The Chinese embassy in Gabon requires the Gabon side to quickly ascertain the situation, conduct immediate rescue operations and make full efforts to save the Chinese nationals," Geng said, adding that "we will pay close attention to this incident."
