Snow has blanketed a thousand-year-old horse ranch in Zhangye City, northwest China, turning it into a beautiful scroll of landscape painting.

The Shandan Military Horse Farm is located in the middle of the Hexi Corridor, an important route that is part of the ancient Silk Road. It is one of the oldest and largest horse farms in the world, tracing back to the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC – 8 AD). The snow added a silvery white touch to the nearby Qilian Mountain, providing an ideal winter playground for the thousands of horses herded there.
