The United Nations says 70.8 million people have been forced out of their homes worldwide – the highest level of displacement on record. Nearly 26 million are refugees and over half of them are under the age of 18. It also says 57 percent of the refugees come from the three war-torn countries: Syria, Afghanistan, and South Sudan. Around 80 percent of refugees live in neighboring countries. With nearly 4 million refugees, Turkey is now hosting the largest number of refugees, followed by Pakistan, Uganda and Sudan. There are also over 1 million refugees living in Germany, which makes it the top refugee-hosting country in Europe.
