Residents in Beijing were stunned when a dragon-like cloud appeared during the early morning on December 23.

Many competed to share their good luck on social media platforms as the cloud was seen by many as an auspicious sign.

According to experts, the cloud was the result of vapor left by airplanes or spacecraft at a high altitude. The contrails were then illuminated by the sunlight.

It was not the first time such a phenomenon has been spotted. Just two weeks ago, a similar dragon cloud was seen by many in Beijing after a rocket was launched at Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in North China's Shanxi Province earlier the same day.
