Santa and his helpers water-skied along the Potomac River shore in Alexandria, as they have been doing every year since 1986, on Christmas Eve.

The tradition began when a man lost a bet to his friends and agreed to water-ski in a Santa suit. Santa, alongside elves, reindeer and even the Grinch, waved as they skied past onlookers while performing flips and tricks.
