Ice fishing season has arrived in northeast China's Jilin Province, where fish are caught using a centuries-old technique. The Chagan Lake is one of the biggest freshwater lakes in China. Each winter, fishermen brave gelid temperatures between -20 to -30 degrees Celsius to bring the water dwellers onto land.
The catch of the day is transported to a nearby open-air market where workers categorize the fish by their size and weight, making it easier for shoppers to choose what they're having for their next meal.
CGTN's Guan Yang and Feng Yilei are at the al-fresco market, fishing for new experiences.
