The death toll from Typhoon Phanfone has risen to 41 after the storm pummeled the Philippines on Tuesday, according to its national disaster management agency.

Latest data also showed that there were 28 people injured and 12 missing in the disaster, as released by Philippines' National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Sunday.

Typhoon Phanfone brought torrential rain that triggered floods in the villages in central Philippines, leaving a trail of destroyed houses. Local officials said around 4,000 people have been evacuated in the Eastern Visayas region, and over 100 domestic flights were canceled.

Due to strong winds, the typhoon also caused power outages in the province of Aklan, reports said.

Local media reported that Philippine authorities have started the process of power and flight recovery since Friday.

Typhoon Phanfone exited the country on Saturday morning, according to NDRRMC.
