Every December, birds of different species at Gaoligong Mountain in Baoshan City, southwest China's Yunnan Province, attract shutterbugs from around the world during the annual bird-watching season.

In recent years, residents have been making great efforts to protect the local environment.

The diversity of birds in the Gaoligong Mountain area is among the richest in China. There are more than 500 species of birds, accounting for nearly 40 percent of the total bird species in China.

The mountain is also abundant in plants and animal resources.
