Statues featuring auspicious rats in Tibetan culture made their debut in front of a Forbidden City hall in Beijing, China, December 26, 2019.

The statues, known "Tubaoshu" in Chinese, had been symbols of fortune and well-being among Chinese.

As 2020 marks the Year of the Rat in the lunar Chinese calendar, the statues are also part of the 600-year-old palace's Chinese New Year celebrations.

Tourists pose for pictures with the statues as they wish for good luck in the new year.
