HK residents flock to Chinese mainland after protesters 'ruin' holiday

Hong Kong police have arrested 336 people over the Christmas holiday as the city's protest movement continues to simmer, an official said on Friday. Hong Kong residents instead flocked to the Chinese mainland for Christmas. According to the Hong Kong Immigration Department, the number of Hong Kong residents entering Shenzhen via checkpoints on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day increased by 7.64 percent and 10.2 percent respectively compared to last year.
