The winter fishing season has begun at Chagan Lake in northeast China's Jilin Province. The Mongolian fishermen there still use centuries-old techniques to catch fish from the frozen water. While such an old way of fishing helped our ancestors survive the brutal winter, this traditional custom has enriched not only culture but also people's livelihoods.
