Protesters are voicing support for the Iraqi president's decision to reject a candidate for prime minister in Baghdad. Asaad al-Eidani, who is currently the governor of the southern Basra province, was nominated by one of the Iraqi parliament's largest blocs - Al-Binaa. President Barham Salih says he would rather quit than have al-Eidani as the country's prime minister. The post has been vacant since last month after the resignation of Adel Abdul Mahdi who stepped down amid ongoing protests. It's the latest in a series of disputes over who should take over ahead of parliamentary elections.
