Live: Stunning winter destination in Tibet – Basum Tso Lake

Basum Tso Lake, also called Cuogao Lake meaning green water in Tibetan, is a fantastic lake hidden among the mountains and valleys of Gongbo'gyamda County, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, at an altitude of 3,480 meters. Covering an area of 27 square kilometers, Basum Tso Lake spreads like a huge crescent.

Under tourism-driven poverty alleviation work, Gongbo'gyamda County has been actively implementing a series of measures in hotels, vehicles and air transportation to attract tourists, aimed at enhancing employment and boosting farmers' and herders' income. 2224 people have been successfully lifted out of poverty.
