Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith will pay an official visit to China from January 5 to 9 at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said on Monday at a regular briefing. 

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li will separately meet Thongloun in Beijing, and exchange views on bilateral ties and issues of common concern, Geng said. 

Thongloun will also visit Shaanxi Province, Geng added. 

Geng noted that he believed the upcoming visit will enhance mutual political trust, deepen practical cooperation, and achieve greater progress in building a community with a shared future for China and Laos.
