On the eastern slope of Mount Gongga in southwest China's Sichuan Province, a stunning red stone beach stretches dozens of kilometers. The orange rocks get their color from a special algae named trentepohlia jolithus. The tiny algae can endure the coldness and strong ultraviolet exposure at the high altitude. CGTN Nature film crew recently filmed in Mount Gongga and captured the stunning sight of the red stone beach.
