Chinese President Xi Jinping will deliver a New Year speech to ring in 2020 at 7:00 p.m. BJT on Tuesday.

CGTN will livestream the event on its APP as well as social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Weibo.

China's leadership began issuing New Year messages in 1949, the year the People's Republic of China was founded. Addressing the people on New Year's Eve is now an annual tradition.
