M5.8 earthquake hits northeastern Iran

A 5.8-magnitude earthquake with a depth of 8 kilometers jolted northeastern Iran on Thursday, according to state television reports. 

The earthquake jolted the town of Sangan near the border with Afghanistan.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damages.
