Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Mongolian counterpart Khaltmaa Battulga exchanged New Year greetings on Wednesday and pledged to enhance bilateral cooperation.
In his letter, President Xi hailed the fruitful outcomes both sides achieved in various areas over the past year as 2019 marked the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
"I had in-depth discussions with President Battulga on major issues during his state visit to China last April for the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, which played a critical role in providing political guidance for bilateral ties," Xi said.
China highly values its relations with Mongolia, Xi said, expressing his willingness to work together with Battulga to move forward the China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership.
Thanks to joint efforts of people from both sides, the Mongolia-China comprehensive strategic partnership has developed, Battulga said.
As permanent neighbors, Mongolia and China have always been committed to regional security and development while respecting each other's development path as well as interests and concerns, Battulga said.
Battulga said he would like to maintain close communication with Xi and wished China prosperity and progress.
