Lanping County, situated in China's southwestern Yunnan Province, has harsh natural conditions. Ninety-seven out of its 101 villages are impoverished, among them 88 are deeply impoverished. Poverty alleviation has always been a major task for the Chinese government, but Lanping gives you a glimpse of what has been achieved.
