China has approved its first domestically produced vaccine against HPV, a sexually transmitted infection that can lead to cancer. The National Medical Products Administration says the vaccine is destined for females aged between 9 and 45. Authorities state it will protect against HPV 16 and 18, the two most common viruses that can cause cervical cancer.
