On Friday, the NHL announced the four coaches of the four division teams for the coming All-Star Game. Todd Reirden of the Washington Capitals (Metropolitan), Bruce Cassidy of the Boston Bruins (Atlantic), Craig Berube of the St. Louis Blues (Central), and Gerard Gallant of the Vegas Golden Knights (Pacific) will lead their players to bring fun to fans in St. Louis on January 24 and 25.

According to league rules, the four coaches came from the four teams that have the highest points percentage (points earned divided by total possible points) in each division by Thursday.

Reirden led the Capitals to rank No. 1 in the Metropolitan Division with 59 points and a record of 27-9-5.

"It's a tremendous honor, really excited about it. A chance to represent our organization, our players, our team. I couldn't be more honored and fortunate for this opportunity to do this again," said the 48-year-old who helped the Metropolitan team win the All-Star championship after defeating the Pacific and Central organizations.

Bruce Cassidy and his Bruins failed to win the Stanley Cup last season but they still have the chance to chase a gain as the team currently tops the Atlantic Division with 24-7-11 record. This will be his first time to coach an All-Star team.

"Obviously a reflection of the players and what they've been able to do this year on the ice and I get the benefit of it. I've never been to one so looking forward to it," said Cassidy.

Like Cassidy, Craig Berube of the St. Louis Blues is also new to the coaching position on All-Star Weekend. The Blues won the Stanley Cup last season and had only one goal of defending it. Currently, they are No. 1 in the Central Division with 26-10-6 record.

"We've got a good team, that's why I'm coaching. Our team has been fantastic this year, we're in first place and that's why I've been named head coach. There have been a lot of great coaches to coach the All-Star Game. This is my first, so I'm excited. It's a great honor," said Berube.

Having put the Vegas Golden Knights on top of the Pacific Division with 23-15-6 record, Gallant be coaching an All-Star team for the third time after 2016 and 2018.

"It's an honor to go to the All-Star Game. Obviously, a coach changes the lines and gets the team ready to play. It's an honor to represent the organization...It's a great honor to go to the All-Star Game any time you can get an opportunity. I never had that chance as a player, and it's my third time as a coach. So it's great, and you know your team is playing well and doing the right thing when the coaches get to go," said Gallant.

All the above four coaches made the Stanley Cup Finals in the past two seasons. In 2019, Berube and his Blues defeated Cassidy and the Bruins. In 2018, Gallant and his Golden Knights lost to Barry Trotz and the Capitals of which Reirden was the assistant coach.
