Damian Campbell-Davys, a water tanker driver, rescued a juvenile koala while on duty near the town of Nerriga, New South Wales, Australia on January 5.
The koala was found staggering out from a row of pine trees after fires raged through the region. The driver recalled that the fires were burning around him on both sides.
A wildlife team was on its way to pick up the koala and take it away from the fire zone, Sydney Morning Herald reported.
