Here come the brides. Forty-three couples trek through icy pathways along the banks of the Songhua River. They are here to take part in a mass wedding ceremony. It's an annual tradition at the Harbin Ice and Show Festival. As it's minus 10 degrees Celsius (14 Fahrenheit) outside, bridal gowns and suits are obscured by winter jackets. Each couple is called up to take their place on stage. But not all are saying their marriage vows for the first time. Some couples are just renewing them.
