When botanic garden meets snow
Ding Qian

We know botanic gardens look great when the plants are colorful and flowers are blooming. But many people avoid gardens in winter, since most trees have lost their leaves.

However, everything seems so charming when it snows. Like the author Sarah Addison Allen wrote in her novel The Sugar Queen, "Snow flurries began to fall and they swirled around people's legs like house cats. It was magical, this snow globe world.”

On the night of January 5, Beijing saw its first snowfall of 2020. The ancient city, including its gardens, was quickly covered with beautiful white snow.
