The New Year's first snow fell in Beijing on Sunday and Monday.

The snowfall started at about 5 p.m. on Sunday and lasted until 6 a.m. on Monday morning.

The city turned white overnight and people went out to enjoy the stunning views and have fun.

Beijing's landmarks including the Palace Museum, the Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace, the Great Wall and the Old Summer Palace took on a new look.

According to National Meteorological Center, the snow swept across large areas of southwestern, northwestern, northern and eastern China.
