Northern China's Shanxi Province has embraced a new snowfall. The Pinglu County in southern Shanxi has seen some golden pheasants looking for food in the snow. These colorful birds look very much like the legendary mythical creature, the phoenix. These golden pheasants are under second-level national protection. Nearly a hundred of the birds now live in a protection area in Pinglu.
