Xi extends condolences to Ukrainian, Iranian presidents over deadly air crash

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday sent a message of condolence to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani over the deadly plane crash in Iran.

Xi, on behalf of the people and government of China as well as in his own name, expressed deep sorrow for all the victims and sincere sympathies for the bereaved families.

A Boeing 737 plane operated by Ukraine International Airlines crashed on Wednesday shortly after takeoff from Tehran's main airport, killing all 176 people on board.
