The Palace Museum is ready to embrace the Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese New Year, which falls on Jan. 25 this year.
The gates of palaces have been decorated with traditional red couplets and New Year paintings. Chinese believe the decorations will help bring good fortune and happiness in the year ahead.
The Palace Museum announced on Friday that it will be open during the Spring Festival holiday, except on Chinese New Year's Eve.
This year marks the 600th anniversary of the Palace Museum, which was home to the imperial court between 1420 and 1912. The museum will hold a series of exhibitions and events to celebrate.
