CGTN host Adam traveled to Wumapu Village in Lanping County. With an impoverishment rate of 92.89 percent, Wumapu is the focus and the challenge of Lanping County's poverty alleviation program. As the village is founded mostly on slopes unsuitable for growing crops and has practically no source of income, the subsidy-based general poverty alleviation policy has barely worked there. Targeted alleviation measures were introduced to specifically address poverty in places like this.
