On the first night of China's 2020 Spring Festival travel rush, thousands boarded trains in Beijing to go back home.

Spring Festival this year falls on January 25, earlier than previous years, with a bigger challenge to the transport system.

From January 10 to February 18, the total number of trips is likely to hit three billion.

Nearly 440 million passenger-trips will be made by railway, eight percent higher than the previous year.
