On Friday, over 290 scientific projects and 12 Chinese scientists were awarded for their significant accomplishments in 2019. At the Great Hall of the People, President Xi Jinping first presented China's top science award, the State Preeminent Science and Technology Award, to Huang Xuhua, chief designer of China's first-generation nuclear submarine, and Zeng Qingcun, a meteorologist from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
