A massive, spinning ice disc "mysteriously" appears at Liaohe Water Dam in Shenyang, northeast China's Liaoning Province. Local residents said the chunk of ice is big enough to hold three cars and it is growing!

Experts said the river water creates a whirlpool effect around the ice and slowly shapes it to have smooth, circular edges. The temperature changes in the water create a vortex under the ice that keep it spinning.

The phenomenon has been spotted in many sub-zero regions from northern America to Russia.
