Coming of Age Day is a Japanese holiday held on the second Monday of January each year to celebrate people who have turned 20.

The age of 20 is the official age of adulthood in Japan.

About 1.22 million people in Japan turned 20 this year, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
