China's economy showed resilience in 2019, despite external uncertainty and concerns over a softening. In a country with over 1.4 billion people, the total gross domestic product ratcheted up to 14 trillion U.S. dollars. In addition, despite the national population breaking past 1.4 billion people, China's per capita GDP rose to over 10,000 U.S. dollars.
