Set to hit Chinese theaters on January 25, the Jackie Chan-led action comedy "Vanguard" has it all: fights, exotic settings, car and boat chases. Audiences don't expect anything less from the star, who teamed up with young actor Yang Yang for his first action flick. 

From London to Africa to Dubai, security company Vanguard travels the world working to rescue a Chinese businessman and his family who are targets of the world's deadliest mercenary organization.

Actors Yang Yang, Ai Lun, Xu Rouhan, Mu Qi Mi Ya and Zhu Zhengting make up the team, all led by Kung Fu comedy king Jackie Chan.

Chan has teamed once again with director Stanley Tong – with whom he has worked with for over 30 years – trying new things for the movie and facing new challenges. Stanley Tong has said that "Vanguard" was his most difficult movie to make and had the biggest budget.

A good action production is a high risk endeavor. Stanley still remembers a breath-taking water chase when Jackie Chan fell into a river.

"Vanguard" is also Yang Yang's first action film, and he found the movie a great chance to broaden his acting abilities. He said: "The biggest challenge for me was finishing all my movements in a strong yet beautiful way. Jackie taught me some useful tricks. Plus, my experience as a soldier and dancer did help a lot."

"There was one scene, in which we're fighting on a boat on a turbulent river. No safety measures, and the water was deep and running fast. I fight one guy then jump onto another boat and keep on fighting. It was a big shock and a breakthrough for me," he added.

"Vanguard" will hit theaters on Chinese Lunar New Year's Day, with Tong reasoning that this is the perfect opportunity for the whole family to watch the film together.

The movie will also be released across Asia and the Middle East around the same time, while it will get its North American and European release in April and May.
