China and Myanmar have agreed to expand ties and pledged to deepen cooperation. Chinese President Xi Jinping met with State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi in Myanmar. The two leaders signed a joint statement, reaffirming their resolve to enhance ties and cooperate under the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative.
