A rime scenery appeared in the Burqin Basin of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region due to the temperature drop recently, treating tourists to a white wonderland.
Located in the northern part of Xinjiang, the Burqin Basin is famous for its rime sceneries in the winter season. Every year from November to March, the Burqin River in the Burqin Basin freezes to form the magnificent rime scenery.
Locals in the Burqin Basin usually take tourists on sleigh rides into the forest covered with rime to show them the beauty of nature.
"We have just traversed the forest covered with rime. It was our first time riding in sleighs hauled by horses. There is rime everywhere, just like a wonderland. It was the first time we saw so much snow. We are very much excited, and the scenery is particularly beautiful," said Yang, a tourist.
