The bodies of 11 Ukrainians who died in the UIA plane crash in Iran arrived in Ukraine's capital Kiev Boryspil Airport on Sunday, where a farewell ceremony was held.

President Volodymyr Zelensky, Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk and other officials attended the ceremony.

The plane came down shortly after takeoff in Tehran on January 8, killing all 176 people on board. The victims include 57 Canadian citizens, 11 Ukrainians, 17 Swedish, four Afghan and four British citizens, as well as Iranians.

Earlier, Iran's military said it had "unintentionally" shot down the Ukrainian passenger jet.
