One killed after M6.4 earthquake hits NW China's Xinjiang

One person was killed and two others were injured after a 6.4-magnitude earthquake hit Kashgar, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

The quake, at a depth of 16km, took place at 9:27 p.m. BJT on Sunday, followed by multiple aftershocks.

China's Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM) allocated a total of 30 million yuan in advance to the area affected by disaster to help with relief work.
