Xi Jinping, chairman of the Central Military Commission, has signed an order to release a trial regulation on military supervision.

The regulation was introduced to establish an authoritative and efficient military supervision system with complete coverage under a unified command.

The regulation aims to strengthen supervision over the exercise of power. It is also expected to play an influential role in the fight against corruption in the armed forces.

The 62-article regulation has specified works including the setup of supervisory commissions, their main duties and the supervision on the commissions and inspectors.  

The regulations will go into effect on February 1, 2020.
