In China's frozen northeast, the holiday begins with a full range of festivities during Spring Festival. One of them is the open-air fair found in cities around the region. Known as Daji in Chinese, open-air fairs in northeast China can be found on certain dates of the month, usually three times per month. The Puhe Daji has been held for over 300 years. It can receive more than 20,000 visitors during the peak shopping period.
