Limited communication services to be restored in Jammu and Kashmir

Access to limited mobile data services and internet will be temporarily restored in India's Jammu and Kashmir from Saturday. This comes days after India's top court announced that freedom of internet access is a fundamental right. Prime Minister Narendra Modi revoked the special status of the Muslim majority region nearly six months ago and a communications lockdown followed. About 300 "whitelisted" websites will be available now, but social media will stay offline and internet speed will remain low.
