Basketball legend Kobe Bryant was killed at the age of 41 in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, about 40 miles (65 km) northwest of Los Angeles, Sunday morning. Bryant's 13-year-old daughter Gianna, nicknamed Gigi, was also killed in the crash, David Shapiro, a city councilman for Calabasas, told NBC News. The Los Angeles County Sheriff said on Twitter that nine people died in the helicopter crash in Calabasas and that there were no survivors.
