In a reaction to U.S. President Donald Trump's proposed Middle East peace plan, China has reiterated its support for existing United Nations resolutions, the international consensus on a "Two-State Solution" and the principle of "land for peace" as the bases for reaching a settlement in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. The Chinese Foreign Ministry says that any solution should take into consideration the views and opinions of the parties involved, especially the Palestinians'. A peace deal should be reached on the basis of equality and negotiations; it should be comprehensive, impartial, and for the long-term.
