Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi held phone talks on Tuesday with British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab and Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Kang Kyung-wha to better cooperate on the novel coronavirus outbreak.

China is willing to stay in communication with other countries in order to properly handle the issues related to prevention and control of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), Wang Yi told his British counterpart.

China has taken some extraordinary measures aimed at taking control of the epidemic and put everything back on track as soon as possible, Wang said.

Noting that the destinies of all countries are closely linked and they share weal and woe in the age of globalization, Wang said China has always attached great importance to international cooperation in public health, informing all parties of the epidemic information and sharing the genetic sequence of the coronavirus in the principle of openness and transparency.

Commending the Chinese government's decisive measures against the viral outbreak and the consequent positive results, the British Foreign Secretary said that his country is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with China, and would try its best to supply China with medical materials needed.

Meanwhile, foreign travel advice for China on the gov.uk website has been updated as saying: The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advise against all travel to Hubei Province due to the ongoing novel coronavirus outbreak.

During talks with the ROK foreign minister, Wang expressed his gratitude to the country for its willingness to provide the necessary help to China, adding that the Chinese side will continue to protect the health and safety of all foreigners, including those from the ROK.

Kang praised the Chinese government's and people's joint resolute efforts to control the epidemic, and commended China's strong measures in the battle against the virus.
