Two makeshift hospitals with a total capacity of up to 2,600 beds are under construction in Wuhan to admit patients infected with the novel coronavirus. The Huoshenshan hospital, with an area of 25,000 square meters and capacity for 700 to 1,000 beds, is expected to be put into use by next Monday.

Another makeshift hospital Leishenshan with a larger capacity, is expected to be operating by next Wednesday. The Leishenshan project expanded its construction plan yesterday and will hold up to 1,600 beds.
