The Hong Kong government has said that over 30 million face masks will be put on the market soon. The move is an effort to alleviate a citywide shortage of masks, following the outbreak of coronavirus. Meanwhile, many companies in the city have announced they will donate millions of U.S. dollars to help the Chinese mainland fight the virus. Many residents are criticizing calls to shut Hong Kong's border crossings with the mainland, saying that this will paralyze the city.
