Beijing is launching measures to control the full load rate in the city's subway system. This includes controlling the speed of entering passenger flow along with the density of people inside the station, according to officials at a press conference on February 2.
Along with increased monitoring of passenger flow, part-run trains will be arranged according to passenger density in each carriage.
The city's subway stations have also started measuring temperatures before passengers enter the station.
Passengers are tested by thermal imagers and handheld thermometers. Those with abnormal body temperatures will be sent to hospitals, Beijing subway operators said.
Beijing will introduce more thermal imagers to increase efficiency and ensure the smooth flow of passengers.
Cleaning and disinfection work has also been stepped up. Each train carriage is disinfected every day. The entrances and exits, escalators, self-service machines, toilets and other public areas of subway stations are disinfected three times a day.
