Two people were killed and a third person was injured on Monday in a shooting incident at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
The shooting took place at a residence hall on campus, prompting the school to issue a temporary "shelter in place" warning and cancel classes for the rest of the day.
Both fatalities are women, while the wounded is a child, the school's police department said at a press conference, according to local media.
The child has been hospitalized and is reportedly in stable condition.
The police did not name any suspected shooter at the press conference but said there "appears to be no other threats."
